Darth plagueis

In the mean time, he uses his alias Higo Damask along with his company, Damask Holdings, to amass wealth and power. This ain't how you thought of Star Wars this is how George Lucas thought of Star Wars. The force is with this book, but Daniel Davis really makes you feel the power of the dark side with his incredible voice performance. This book is mostly about Palpatine's rise to Dark Lord of the Sith. But can they defy the merciless Sith tradition? He became so powerful… the only thing he was afraid of was losing his power, which eventually, of course, he did. It also makes reference to the events of other Republic-era stories; I'm sure I missed half the references. But still, I keep getting suckered into these things because dammit I want answers! He could save others from losing their seats, but not himself.

All in all I'd say that I'm glad I read the book. The bulk of this yarn plays about as mystically as a cop procedural. Some people who read this book are going to love it and think that it is absolutely brilliant. Plagueis takes Palpatine under his wing and begins to guide him down the path to the dark side. The characters come to life, and the characters in this book are true villains. I suspect some of that is because the author had to reference events depicted in other books most of which I have not read.

At once enjoying sublime writing about some of the darkest deeds ever done in the years leading up to the Clone Wars. Pelagueis was so distracted with his research that he was blind to all else.

Darth Plagueis by James Luceno

I wanted to read this title Upon finishing this book I have read only two Star Wars novels, but can say from my limited experience in Star Wars literature that this may be the book by which many after will be judged. I am not among them, but I can tell them - relax. The back story of Palpatine was also interesting and brings new light to the character we've all seen as the already capable supreme chancellor and dark emperor Sidious. Unfortunately, he taught a rioter everything he knew, then the rioter banned him in his sleep. As with his Tarkin, I found Luceno's use of elements of the mythos established by the films and other texts very inventive as he fleshes out characters and gives this key story-line in the mythos more historic and narrative depth. Of course, Palpatine sprints down the evil path and soon becomes Plagueis' apprentice. This is not the dark lord of the Sith I imagined.

The entire novel is told through the viewpoint of the eponymous Darth Plagueis or his apprentice, Palpatine. The dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. This book goes back and provides the background information to Revenge of the Sith obviously, however it uses info from Darth Maul books and comic series, a brief mention of Jungo Fett's comic series, and even season 3 of Clone Wars to be resolved in season 4. Possessing power is all he desires. Plagueis and Palpatine, for the most part go about executing their plan with the utmost cool and collectedness. Even though I love the movies I must not be as big a fan of Star Wars as I thought. The police's use of Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. How marvellous to see Palpatine as a youth, to learn something of his awful, awful choices. I picked up Darth Plagueis because I wanted—and was promised—a mystical fantasy.

Palpatine is discovered by Plagueis--in his non-Sith capacity as an influential Munn financial wizard--while Plagueis is trying to manipulate the monarchy of Naboo to secure their plasma resources. . . Darth Plagueis emerges and, with the assistance of his apprentice, Darth Sidious, begins the final steps to the destruction of the Republic and the Jedi. I found it marvelously interesting to learn about the history of these two descendants of Bane who organized the final steps to achieving the Sith's ultimate revenge: the downfall of the Jedi. There's lots of nods to greater Star Wars lure especially from the prequels and it make you appreciate Palpatine who is already a very strong and good character in the movies alone even more. The other would never happen but I would love for it too is the Force premonition Darth Plagueis has if Qui-Gon had taught Anakin instead of Obi-Wan.
